White Mountain City
White Mountain City was a very isolated town founded in 1861 on Wyman Creek on the Deep Springs slope. Perhaps its only claim to fame was its use in an election fraud in 1861, when a large number of votes were cast from a town of few people. As it turned out, the names were copied from the passenger list of a San Francisco steamer.
Only a few stone ruins are to be found in the townsite and a mine about 15 km to the west.
White Mountain City is on a dirt road off CA-168, northwest of Deep Springs, near the Nevada border.
