Bonnie Claire
Founded as the town of Thorp in 1904, it was renamed Bonnie Claire in 1906. As early as the 1880's, gold was mined in the hills north of the town. As a railroad center, Bonnie Claire was a stop on both the Bullfrog & Goldfield and Las Vegas & Tonopah railroads. As such, it became a shipping station for materials destined for the construction of Scotty's Castle 32 km away. The tracks were removed in 1928 and the post office closed in 1931. From 1935 to 1953, lead ore from the Lippencott mine was smelted here.
